The Associates
Evan Shatz, principal, began his sales career in 1976 as a showroom assistant with Cohama Decorative Fabrics in New York City. For the next 20 years, he continued to work in fabric sales, joining Covington Fabrics in 1980. In 1996, Evan formed Evan Shatz Sales Associates as a multi–line rep agency and in addition to Covington fabrics, added a carpet and iron furnishings line to his product mix. Now, after 27 years as principal of this organization, Evan has become a leader in his field, and with the assistance of several talented associates, represents some of the finest products to the hospitality/contract markets in the Northeast. When Evan isn't selling, you can find him at the beach or hiking a mountain.

Elissa Shatz, associate, is a graduate of FIT, where she majored in Marketing & Communications. After graduation, she gained invaluable sales experience while working at Karl Chevrolet in New Canaan, CT. Being Evan’s daughter, Elissa grew up with the understanding that she would one day have the opportunity of joining “the business”, which she did in 2006. Starting out as a sales assistant, Elissa learned the ins and outs of running a repping business first hand, by assisting in the home office. With this knowledge, Elissa soon “hit the road”, calling on accounts in the New England states. She now divides her time between developing business in the New England area and loving life in NH, where she's always trying to find time for trampoline cardio. |
Jes Rodriguez, associate, studied interior design at Berkeley College. After graduating in 1993, she began her career at Prime Hospitality in NJ and later joined Elias Design in NYC. After 11 years in the hospitality design field, Jes decided to switch gears and in 2007, moved to Hawaii for 3 months to train and become a certified Bikram Yoga instructor. Towards the end of 2007, Jes joined Evan Shatz Sales Associates where her interior design background helps clients with their design methodology. She calls on accounts in NJ and eastern PA. |
Adam Pelkofsky, associate, attended SUNY Cobbleskill for Culinary Arts before spending 6 years in the Food and Hospitality industry, selling and running weddings. He decided to try a new angle on hospitality when he joined ESSA in 2015, taking over the Western PA, NY, and Western CT territories. When Adam's not drumming up business, you can find him on the golf course, meditating. |
Liz Brodie, associate, attended the University of New Haven where she earned her degree in Interior Design. After years in the hospitality design field, Liz decided to tackle the industry from a different vantage point and become a hospitality sales representative. If you asked her why, she would tell you that Evan was her inspiration. When she’s not working with clients in Western PA, Western NY, or Long Island, Liz enjoys cooking, meditation, and spending time with family and friends. |
